CST is a whole body modality that uses an energetically and anatomically guided touch to balance and heal the bones, fascia, nerves, and well being of the central nervous system.

Synopsis:
Craniosacral therapy works on balancing and aligning the craniosacral system: the bodily system comprised of the membranes, nerves, tissues, and cerebrospinal fluid that encompass the brain, spinal cord, and fascia. AKA your whole body!

Osteopathic inspired and energetic touch is utilized to release patterns of restrictions and imbalances found in the craniosacral system. Removal and realignment of these patterns allow for optimal health and functioning of the central nervous system. This in turn can relieve stress, chronic pain, migraines, chronic fatigue, and whole range of imbalanced symptoms.

Fascial Connection:
The body is fully connected through fascial tissue that exists between your skin and the muscles and organs, surrounds your brain and connects down your spinal cord. 
When the body experiences trauma - either physically or emotionally, the fascia acts as a protective barrier aiming to keep the force of this trauma from entering deeper in the body. Over time these restrictions become more externally expressed in the form of aches and pain, emotional instability, hormone disruptions, overall imbalance. 

The Skull and its Sutures:
Some medical professionals in United States are oddly unique in their assumption that the sutures of the skull are fused together by adulthood. It has been shown by other medical experts that the sutures are indeed still fluid and mobile throughout our entire life. 

There are three layers of connective tissue called the Menengies, that encase the brain and spinal cord. Trauma and restrictions in these layers can impact function of the brain and nervous system. 
For example: Dr. Upledger - one of the primary founders and developers of this therapeutic approach - found that children experiencing ADD/ADHD symptoms almost all had a restriction in the right temporal bone. When this restriction was released, the patients saw improvement towards neuro-normative behaviors. 

Energy Cysts/ Intertial Folcrums:
The residual impacts of trauma can be felt through the body by just the hands of the craniosacral practitioner. In the body's attempt to return to a homeostasis it accumulates trauma into what we call Energy Cysts. These residual impacts of trauma can be felt through the body by just the hands and perception of the craniosacral practitioner. Once identified, there are specific techniques to release the tension and allow the craniosacral system to return to a true point of balance. 

The Quantum that holds it all:
We are energetic beings, and modern science is finally starting to have equipment specialized enough to measure what eastern medicine and energy practitioners have been working with for thousands of years. 
By working directly with the forces and multiple energetic layers of the body we are able to create a new state of being. 
For example, in times of stress your neurochemical receptive cells in your pituary gland move physically closer together to better relay cortisol. In continued exposure to stress these cells can get stuck in this closer together holding pattern allowing quicker dysregulated cortisol responses. You end up quicker to anger, quicker to overwhelm and panic attacks, and overall hormonal dysregulation. Quantum and energy medicine are some of the only ways to truly interact with these cells. Creating more space and returning to a more balanced and pre-stress state of being. You'll find that it really does shift your whole sense of self back to a calmer, happier, sacred place.
